About Me
Hi, I’m Vanessa — a passionate, purpose-driven journalist with a deep commitment to telling stories that matter. I’m a proud graduate of Florida A&M University, where I earned my degree in Broadcast Journalism and laid the foundation for my career in news.
During my time at FAMU, I worked as a staff writer for The Famuan and served as a reporter and anchor for TV-20, our student-produced live newscast. I also interned at WCTV CBS 6 in Tallahassee, gaining early exposure to the demands of a professional newsroom.
In addition to my journalism experience, I spent nearly 10 years with a well-respected, billion-dollar corporation, where I advanced into leadership roles after starting at age 16. Through that experience, I sharpened essential skills that directly translate to the newsroom-clear and effective communication, crisis management, fast decision-making, and connecting with people from all walks of life. All of which I now bring with me as I re-enter the journalism industry with clarity, confidence, and purpose. After a nearly six-year hiatus, I'm stepping boldly back into journalism-ready to inform, inspire, and serve.
My goal is simple: to become a trusted and respected voice in the community — someone viewers can rely on for honest, impactful, and human-centered reporting.
